Executive Overview

As part of Qatar’s digital transformation agenda and TASMU Smart Nation initiative, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI), launched the Global Trade Monitoring Platform (GTMP) to strengthen the nation’s trade intelligence capabilities.

Diyar Middle East was selected to design and implement a centralized, intelligent platform that consolidates fragmented national and international trade data into a unified ecosystem. The platform empowers policymakers, exporters, manufacturers, trade promotion entities, and businesses with real-time trade insights, market intelligence, export opportunities, compliance guidance, tender discovery, and AI-assisted analytics.

Client Profile

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) is responsible for leading Qatar’s digital transformation initiatives and enabling innovative national platforms under the TASMU Smart Qatar Program.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) plays a central role in developing Qatar’s trade ecosystem, promoting exports, supporting local industries, and strengthening the country’s position in global markets.

Together, the two entities are driving the development of a modern digital trade intelligence ecosystem that supports national economic growth, export development, and data-driven policymaking.

Business Challenge

Prior to GTMP, trade-related information was dispersed across multiple local and international sources, creating challenges for stakeholders seeking timely, reliable, and actionable trade intelligence.

  • Fragmented trade data spread across multiple systems and organizations.
  • Limited visibility into global market trends, export opportunities, trade flows, and competitiveness indicators.
  • Manual and time-consuming trade analysis processes.
  • Difficulty identifying international tender opportunities and emerging markets.
  • Lack of a unified platform providing trade compliance guidance, trade intelligence, and analytical insights.
  • Limited accessibility of advanced analytics for non-technical users.
  • Need for AI-enabled capabilities to simplify interpretation of complex trade datasets and support informed decision-making.
Diyar’s Solution

Diyar Middle East designed and implemented the Global Trade Monitoring Platform (GTMP), a centralized and intelligence-driven platform that unifies trade information, analytical capabilities, and decision-support services within a single digital ecosystem.

Solution Architecture & Design

Diyar designed a scalable, cloud-native architecture that consolidates fragmented national and international trade data into a unified trade intelligence platform. The solution was built around a modular architecture that enables interoperability, data harmonization, governance, security, analytics, and future expansion while supporting Qatar’s digital transformation objectives.

The architecture established a centralized trade intelligence layer capable of integrating multiple data sources and delivering consistent, trusted insights to government entities, policymakers, exporters, and businesses.

Technology Platform

The implementation included a comprehensive suite of integrated trade intelligence capabilities, including:

  • Trade Map for visualizing trade flows, market demand, and international trade relationships.
  • Trade Intelligence for monitoring market trends, competitiveness indicators, and export performance.
  • Tender Platform for identifying and exploring international tender opportunities.
  • Trade Compliance for providing market access and regulatory guidance.
  • Trading Guides for supporting export readiness and trade awareness.
  • Trade Community for stakeholder engagement and collaboration.
  • AI Assistant for AI-powered insight generation, contextual explanations, and guided analytical exploration.
  • Administration Portal for governance, monitoring, configuration, and platform management.
integration & Deployment

GTMP was designed to aggregate and harmonize data from national and international sources into a unified intelligence ecosystem. The platform supports integration with relevant government entities, trade-related systems, and external data providers, enabling consistent access to trade information, market intelligence, compliance references, and tender opportunities.

The deployment established a centralized environment that automates data consolidation, supports advanced analytics, and provides stakeholders with a single source of truth for trade intelligence and decision support.

Demonstration & Adoption
Enablement

To accelerate adoption and maximize business value, Diyar conducted demonstrations and validation activities showcasing the platform’s core capabilities, including trade intelligence exploration, export opportunity identification, tender discovery, compliance awareness, and AI-assisted analytics.

The platform’s intuitive dashboards, visual analytics, reporting capabilities, and conversational AI features were designed to simplify complex trade intelligence workflows and improve accessibility for both technical and non-technical users, enabling broader adoption across government and private-sector stakeholders.
