A central bank in the GCC

Engagement Duration
3 years
Executive Overview
A central bank in the GCC partnered with Diyar United Company to strengthen its external threat posture and operational resilience through a set of complementary cybersecurity solutions. The program combined continuous monitoring of external digital risk, a hands-on platform to develop the readiness of the bank’s security workforce, and a high-availability architecture for the core network services on which every other system depends.
Client Profile
The client is a central bank in the GCC responsible for monetary policy, financial stability and the supervision of the national banking sector.
Its threat profile extends well beyond its own perimeter: brand impersonation, credential exposure and third-party risk in external channels carry consequences for national financial confidence, not only for the institution itself.
Business Challenge
The bank set out to close three distinct gaps in its security posture:
- Threats originating outside the perimeter, across surface, deep and dark web channels, were not being systematically monitored or mitigated.
- Security team readiness depended on classroom training rather than realistic, hands-on exercise against live attack techniques.
- Core network services underpinning every application required a high-availability architecture to eliminate single points of failure.
Diyar’s Solution
Diyar United delivered three complementary capabilities, each addressing a different layer of resilience.
Digital Risk Protection
A Digital Risk Protection Service was implemented to continuously monitor and mitigate external digital threats across surface, deep and dark web channels, giving the bank early visibility of exposure it could not previously see.
Workforce Cyber Readiness
A cybersecurity hackathon and skills platform was adopted to develop workforce readiness through hands-on simulation, allowing security staff to practise against realistic attack scenarios and measure capability objectively.
Resilient Core Network Services
A high-performance grid architecture was implemented for DNS, DHCP and IP address management, ensuring high availability and resiliency of the DDI services that every other system depends on.
Results & Business Impact
The program delivered improvement across visibility, capability and availability:
Early Threat Visibility
External exposure across surface, deep and dark web channels is now continuously monitored.
Measurable Workforce Readiness
Hands-on simulation replaces theory-only training and makes capability visible.
High-Availability Core Services
A resilient DDI grid removes a critical single point of failure.
Reduced Operational Risk
Threat intelligence, skilled responders and resilient services reinforce one another.
Strategic Value Delivered
The programme reflects a mature view of cyber resilience: defence is not only a perimeter question, but a combination of external visibility, human capability and infrastructure availability. By addressing all three in one engagement, Diyar United helped the bank move from reactive protection toward a posture in which exposure is detected early, responders are demonstrably prepared, and the services underneath every control remain available.
